The Technical Alpha Ended - Here’s What Happened

Nearly a month has passed since the Technical Alpha for Scars of Honor concluded, and what a journey it was.
Tens of thousands of players stepped into Ondal’s Fall to explore Aragon, test combat systems, complete quests, fight in open world PvP, and push the game far beyond what our internal testing alone could ever achieve.
And honestly?
You broke things in ways we never expected - which is exactly why this test mattered.
Players from 165 countries joined the Alpha, helping us uncover technical issues, gather gameplay data, and better understand what players enjoy most about Scars of Honor so far.
Some quick highlights from the Technical Alpha:
Sacred Order won the faction recruitment war with 57% of players joining its ranks
Mage became the most played class
Over 2.4 million NPCs were defeated
More than 111,000 PvP kills were recorded
The Lord of Shadows was defeated every 2 minutes and 31 seconds
One player even managed to solo the boss as a Paladin

Of course, the Alpha wasn’t without issues.
Servers struggled under the massive number of players joining the game, while others encountered crashes, disconnects, and hardware-specific problems. But every bug report, every piece of feedback, every clip, and every discussion helped us push Scars of Honor forward.
At the same time, development continues at full speed behind the scenes.
As Creative Director Venelin Vasilev shared recently, the team is currently revisiting all major gameplay pillars, including movement, combat, quests, open world systems, gathering, crafting, and PvE content.
One of the biggest focuses right now is movement.
The team is currently working on new movement states such as walking, backwards walking, and sprinting, while also improving how movement connects with combat and open world traversal. New environmental traversal systems such as elevators, jumping puzzles, and improved vertical exploration are also being explored.
And yes… there is also one hidden new way of traveling across the world that we can’t wait to show you later.
Mounts are also receiving major attention, with the goal of making them feel more responsive, weighty, and satisfying to control while staying true to the vision of ground-based mounts.
To everyone who participated in the Technical Alpha:
thank you for testing, breaking systems, reporting bugs, sharing feedback, and helping shape the future of Scars of Honor.
This is only the beginning.
