Scars of Honor — Is It Actually Any Good?
I'm over fifteen hours in to Scars Of Honor's latest playtest but is it any good? I've done a full video which you can find in this article. The answer though is, it depends. When the servers cooperate I'm enjoying it more than the you'd expect given the negative noise. But you can see the flaws plain as day. I'm personally working on a long list of things I'd like them to look at.
It's a double A theme park MMO, tab target with skill shots mixed in. Closer to Wildstar possibly than to anything chasing WoW. Two factions, four playable classes in this test, one zone, level cap of 20. Free Alpha test.
The biggest issues have been servers and performance and these are getting better over time as Beastburst continue to fix and patch things. For combat, the main issues are probably movement and targeting. Hit boxes feel small, click to target is unreliable mid fight, tab cycle is sticky. Once that's sorted, the combat should feel much better. There's a real game underneath and one I think can be worked on and improved.
